" You can look at disease as a form of disharmony. And there's no organ system in the body that's not affected by sound and music and vibration."
-Mitchell Gaynor, M.D., Sounds of Healing
Come join Kristina Bennett in this singing bowl ceremony to learn the truth of this quote through experience. In this special evening that we hope will be recurring, Kristina will play three crystal bowls all tuned to different parts of the body, specifically, the pineal gland, thyroid gland, and adrenal glands. All together, these make up the endocrine system which affects most every organ and cell in the body. She will also add extra ambient sounds with her harp, voice, and shruti box, a beautiful Indian Instrument. The sound bath will help balance the body and mind through vibrational frequencies. It's recommended to bring a yoga mat and/or pillow, and a blanket or warm clothes/layers for maximum comfort. Participants will be invited to lie down and/or sit comfortably during the sound session.
Kristina is a highly successful teacher of Voice, Beginner Guitar, and Music, for over 10 years now, and has been performing for 30 plus years. She has a background from Berklee College of Music, in Voice, and earned a certificate in Sound, Voice, & Healing, from The California Institute of Integral Studies. She also holds a B.A. in Psychology & Sociology from The University of Massachusetts.
Kristina traveled to India in 2015 to study Classical Indian Singing, & Sound, under the mentoring of Grammy nominated composer/performer, Silvia Nakkach. In the summer of 2016 she toured with her Biketopia Music Collective, through the Pacific Northwest & Canada, where she performed 31 shows & shared sound sessions.
She continues to perform, teach, and hold sound sessions in the Bay Area, and has an album featured on iTunes, entitled Mermaid Tattoos. Kristina's passion is in sharing her musical gifts and sound knowledge with others in the hopes that she can bring more, peace, love, and health to the world.
