In this workshop, I will guide participants in how to make incense bundles (aka smudge sticks) from a variety of fragrant plant materials (may include black sage, mugwort, cedar, or others seasonally-available). After a demonstration, we'll construct our own, while we story-tell and discuss sustainable harvesting practices and how they are utilized by those who tend the wild. Each class member can make two bundles: one to take home and one to deliver to native survivance groups (such as protectors of land, water, and culture: R.I.S.E., Sogorea Te Land Trust, or the Intertribal Friendship House. All materials are provided, just show up prepared for a calm, sweet gathering time.
